Street Style created by Maryellen Ní Churnáin

Usually, my everyday choice of clothing would consist of stylish yet practical outfits,  especially for college life. I like to wear high street brands but have a real lust for investment designer pieces.

I took a quick shot on Buttermilk Lane, just off Shop St here in Galway of my typical wardrobe attire for everyday wear and my busy college life.

Really hope you like it, please feel free to comment on my posts and if you have any style queries do not hesitate to get in touch!

Yours ever so stylishly,

Maryellen Ní Churnáin

My Top Spring/Summer Must Haves!! – By Maryellen Ní Churnáin

We have all had the winter blues and January is the one time of the year when everyone gets down in the dumps, fear not however because Spring/Summer has a huge grasp on colour and floral pattern this year.  I have gathered a few bits together for you to see my take on Fashion must haves.

Everyone has different style and it is important to dress for yourself and not everyone else. Make use of what you can bring to your wardrobe and it’s important to not overbuy in trends. Colour this season is big in and with a mix of rose golds, soft pinks, yellows and blues making a huge impact, it really is the season to be jolly! Wave goodbye to the cold dark weather by indulging in lots of colour and bring a smile back into your wardrobe this season..

Remember to dress for yourself and not everyone else. Bring out the real you in your clothes and make smart choices when choosing colour that gives lift to pale “withered” skin..You don’t need a facelift..you need a colour lift in that dull wardrobe!

Hope you like some of my style picks and remember you don’t have to buy the expensive brands, high-street stores will always replicate designs from the runway. As Marc Jacobs said to Victoria Beckham when she started out in Fashion, he said to invest in quality and everything else will run. Always remember to dress for yourself, because when you feel good, you look good!

Enjoy and thanks for reading!

Happy Shopping,

Maryellen Ní Churnáin x

Coat/Jumper/Jeans : River Island

Shoes : Dr. Martens

Photography : Robin McGonigle

So I recently joined friends on an street style session. I hadn’t any plans of getting my picture taken, but with a little persuasion, I jumped in front of the camera. These were shot by my classmate Robin McGonigle and she did an amazing job of me looking all mysterious and artistic, if I say so myself.

Menswear Winter Essentials : By Adam Devlin

winteressentials

Guys, it’s December. I’m still trying to deal with the fact 2010 is over, let alone to think 2014 is less than a month away. Not to sound like an old woman, but honestly, where does time go..

Anywho, I’ve been trying this whole ‘buying staple pieces, rather than buying random things I don’t need’ in bid to stop spending as much money as I normally would (it’s going horribly btw), SO I’ve compiled a few staple items my wardrobe needs this winter.

A winter coat, a knit jumper, a good pair of jeans, a crisp shirt (that one can dress up and down), a quality bag and staple shoes (I forgot to include them into the picture, whoops!

Although these are all mens items, they are similar womenswear pieces on the high street so this is technically a unisex post haha! 😉

2013 Autumn/Winter Trend – The Oversized Coat

I don’t know about you but I am loving oversized coats!

They are in huge demand this season, they are so cosy yet effortlessly stylish, if you’re keen on looking fashionable and staying warm this season then the oversized coat is perfect.

How to wear oversized coats…You have to be careful with the way you wear them if you get a size up, it will look like the coat is swamping you. Oversized coats have to fall nicely on your body shape even though the design is to look oversized.

If you are like me and normally buy one size bigger in jumpers, jackets and blazers than your actual size, don’t do that when purchasing an oversized coat. If you are a size 8 then get the size 8 and not a size 10. They are designed to look oversized but yet complement your shape.

What to wear them with…Skinny jeans are my favourite thing to wear with oversized coats. If you are small in height wear them with ankle boots or toe cap court shoes as it will give you some height and will make you look taller and slimmer.
